Nephrology Nursing

This is a post basic course and is accessible for nursing professionals who have any of the following qualifications

  • Diploma in Kenya Registered Community Health Nursing (KRCHN/KRN) with 2 years working experience
  • Bsc. Nursing
  • Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK) registration certificate and practicing license

The course will enable the learner to acquire knowledge and skills in management of patients with renal pathology, performance of quality dialysis and renal unit management.

The course is provided as a college and dialysis center (Renal Unit) based course. The mode of study is blended, competency based, thematic learning. While the period of study/learning is a maximum of 2 years (self-paced learning).

The training will take place at North Coast Medical Training College which is located in Kikambala. The clinical placements are Coast General Hospital (CPGH) in Mombasa County and Malindi sub county Hospital in Kilifi County and Mariakani sub county Hospital in Kilifi County.

The course is carried out in collaboration between North Coast Medical Training College and Quality Dialysis Center within Coast province. Upon completion of the course the learner will get an examination licensure by the Nursing Council of Kenya.
